I swear I am like a little kid anxiously awaiting for christmas, my birthday, hannukah and summer vacation all rolled into one when I send my film into the lab. My poor stalked mail carrier, I actually grabbed this parcel out of his hand before he could get to my door![]()

A little bit of news. I announced in the News section of my website that I was offering film test sessions through the end of March. I have only 3 spots left! See the details here, and send an email to dena@denarobles.com to get booked in. Beginning April 1st, 2012 a new product and pricing structure will be in effect for new sessions, April onward. Very excited about what’s coming up!

What a pretty little girl.
With the short daylight hours and the long shadows of winter, there have been a lot of opportunities to work with shadows in photography. Sometimes I felt a bit like Peter Pan, chasing shadows around the pavement.
This month we were lucky enough one evening to be able to pull our bicycles out of the garage for a little chilly ride. I noticed right away the abstract, but identifiable pattern of my bike’s shadow. Enjoy our tenth installment of Blog Carousel and shadows! Leave us a little love and click on through to the next blog in our round. Milwaukee family photographer Anna Mayer is sure to please.

Great choice for this month theme. I love the details of the wheel visible in the shadow!
Beautifully arty take on this month’s theme, Dena. Love how the distortion of the wheel plays out via your shadow perspective.
haha, great minds think alike! I love bike shadows. So dramatic and interesting. Nice.
Love it! Very cool perspective!
Last week I posted about the gorgeous lucky mom of 3 boys, in Expecting Louis. I was so honored to be there this morning in her home to meet Louis and photograph all that wrinkly, sleepy, squidgy, sweet smelling goodness that is a brand new life. Here he is at just a few hours old. He is simply amazing at 9.5 lbs and his mom is a superstar. I absolutely love being in the presence of the birth of a new family; the excitement, the bliss, newness, and euphoria is breathtaking. Welcome to the outside world Louis!

Beautiful photos. In a couple of pics. he did not look too happy to be in this world.
Gorgeous images of a gorgeous mama (hot mama!) and her newest love. Beautiful work, Dena!
I have played with the idea of opening a photography studio for several years. I may still. I know there are several occasions and many ideas that could best be achieved in an environment created and controlled by me. On the other hand, there is still something magical and meaningful about conducting sessions in a family’s own home. The unique environment itself is created and controlled by the family I am photographing. Hence, the personality of the family is present in not only the surroundings, but also in the comfort level felt by each of its occupants. Sometimes the energy level is high, sometimes sweet and quiet, sometimes silly, but it’s all THEM. And I go with it…
Here’s a little peek of this lovely family…again, I am eagerly awaiting their film to come in, my mailbox will be bursting full soon.
Thanks for inviting me into your home and sharing a little piece of your life.

I always love this glimpse into your daily lives, recorded so artistically. Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner made me laugh out loud. Who is that?
that’s ME!
