I have been on the road and in the air for over a week now for a summer packed full of travel.  I am re-packing the bags for the 4th hotel and will have at least 3 or 4 more to go.  Why oh why oh WHY did we pack so much stuff??  With all the swimming and canyons and mud and sand and ‘play-hard’ we have definitely needed every item so far.  So there you have it.  Delta loves us I am sure as they charge a fee for every bag checked.  Never again, Delta, do you hear me?

As this has been a working holiday so far, I will update our adventures as I can.  We have 3 laptops fighting for spotty internet service in the hotel at the moment.

Here is a quick self portrait of the family at a quick sunset visit to Hadleigh Castle before we left.

denarobles_0704Later dudes.

Paul: So very great to have you visit. We enjoyed you'll much. Cam, India, & Aidan - Hope to see you real soon. maybe the deer will come for a visit. They did while we were in Utah with you guys and they ate all of our Strawberry plants. Oh Darn!

Christine: Awesome self-portrait! How do you rock even shadow shots??!! :)

Tanya: My kind of self portrait! Love it!

Did I ever post George??  I don’t believe I did.

George, meet The World.  World, meet George.  Go see George on stage in London’s West End  or on your telly.  He is currently acting in Waiting for Godot and has a few episodes of The Bill playing later this year.  I am bummed that I may not see Waiting for Godot before I leave for the summer!

I always think of him as the mini Leo.  Dicaprio that is.  Watch out world, here he comes.

Whew!  There is one week of school left for the kids and I am hurriedly sorting and packing suitcases and packaging and delivering orders before we leave next Thursday.  I have been a bit (a lot,  HUGE lot) of a stress case these last few weeks and I am on strict orders from my son to chill out and relax and not lift a finger while we are travelling.  Gufawwww.  I will let you know how that pans out.  But I am very much looking forward to shooting in Utah and our photography workshop on July 22nd.  I will post all about it when we are done.  I am also excited to catch up with many friends and family over the summer.  It’s been too long, hasn’t it?  I will try to crank out a few more posts before I leave, I have a bunch in the queue.   Then I must r-e-l-a-x, even if it means pawning the children off on some of those beloved friends and family!  Enjoy your summer!

NO INTERNET!!!!

February 18, 2009

Just a quick note as I know I have at least 7 people trying to email me…my internet has been down all week.  Things move pretty slowly here so I have no clue when it will be back up.  (BT)  Need I say more??  I am sneaking a few minutes at the home of a friend at the moment to get this message out. So, if you are trying to reach me, please phone 07973 114 156.  Fingers crossed I’ll be  back up soon!

Lola

January 26, 2009

The kids and I have been ‘dog dreaming’ for weeks.  We are so ready to have a dog in our life again.  Aidan and India are always sure to point out that Cameron is being ‘left out’ since he is not growing up with a dog  and they did.  They are also quick with the promises of walking, training, feeding, grooming and cleaning up.  Of course I believe them.  yeah right.  In our heads we have picked out, studied and discussed several breeds, colors, temperaments, genders and names, yes, even names.  Are we getting a dog?  I doubt anytime soon.  But we are still dreaming and wishing.  It doesn’t  help that the puppies on Nintendogs are so dang cute.  It doesn’t help that we still talk about our Marley dog almost daily.  And it doesn’t help when I see photographs I have taken of other beloved dogs.

Here’s Lola, isn’t she just beautiful?

So as much as the children and I are ready to have a dog again, there is one other person we need to convince…

I wonder if having a dog would encourage this family to stop camping out on our doorstep?

I think we have some good arguments here.  Wouldn’t  you agree?

Until then I will just keep photographing the dogs of others…and dreaming.

Rebecca: Lola is beautiful! I don't share your need for a dog (although Joshua would like six of them) but I'm diggin the photographs. Especially the one of the fox - he/she's gorgeous!

Patsy Dunn: Lola is beautiful, but you didn't get her to smile. lol

JVP and Tiff: Tiff and I love the pics of our girl! She's happy to be back in Cali and is smiling now. Dena, we would like to purchase a pic or two if that's ok? Let us know and talk to you soon, John and Tiff XX

jennifer: aww, too cute, love the curled up shots! Nice blog too!

Anna-Karin: Lola is a sweetie! I can not believe you have a fox coming that close to your house. Amazing capture!

Pammy: Sweet. I know what you mean about being ready to have a dog in your life....you should take the plunge

Up late

December 13, 2008

I am up late at night working on my new website, packaging up my last portrait order, contemplating writing out some christmas cards (yeah right, it’s the thought that counts) and also trying to weed down and organise my bajillion gigabytes of photo files.  Oh, and eating chocolate cake.  Anyway, in the midst of trying to do all the many things I should be doing I am most enjoying looking at all the years and years of photographs.  And eating chocolate cake.  Here is a set I don’t think I have ever blogged, I have them hanging in my kitchen and I smile everytime I glance at them.  Just thought I would share.  CAM (a.k.a. Cute Adorable Menace) last April.

I love the way he is curling his toes in this next one.  We call that ‘happy feet’ at our house.

Thanks for watching!  Chocolate cake is reduced to miniscule crumbs, time to go to bed.  Christmas cards tomorrow perhaps??

Paul Dunn: Love him. Thanks for sharing. He makes me smile too.

New {and improved??}

November 10, 2008

You need to see Cameron.

The New Toddler Version Cameron.  The funny,
animated, silly, motorin’, giggly jiggly tickly, joking, chasing,
hiding, bouncing, running, singing, dancing, playing, jumping, peek-a-booing, reading, talking, sweet kissing
Cameron with a good dose of little devil in him.

Rebecca: Oh my goodness! I absolutely adore this image of your little devil. How telling it is! And can I just say I can't wait to get a healthy dose of him in about 6 weeks. Wahoo!!!

Rebecca: Oh my goodness ... look at Aidan! I can't believe how much he's grown up in the last few years alone, let alone how much he's changed since he was a little guy. Happy Birthday Aidan! We'll echo what you're mom wrote: you are so totally rockin' cool. xoxo

Patsy Dunn: Hey Cutie Patootie!! You are still one cute fellow!! And a very wise one too. I read Breaking Dawn while I was at Zion's and I did not find it that disapointing. Not perfect, but not too horrible. Love ya lots and lots. Seth lets me call him Seth-a-roni. He says only grandmas can call him that.

Anny: What a smart cookie he is! Aidan sounds like a very intelligent young man. Wandered over here from Rebecca's blog.

Sweet William

October 9, 2008

A sneak peek for proud Mum and Dad!  It was lovely to see you again and to meet little William.  He is so adorable and I can’t wait for you to see the rest from our session.  Congrats again!
