The kids and I have been ‘dog dreaming’ for weeks. We are so ready to have a dog in our life again. Aidan and India are always sure to point out that Cameron is being ‘left out’ since he is not growing up with a dog and they did. They are also quick with the promises of walking, training, feeding, grooming and cleaning up. Of course I believe them. yeah right. In our heads we have picked out, studied and discussed several breeds, colors, temperaments, genders and names, yes, even names. Are we getting a dog? I doubt anytime soon. But we are still dreaming and wishing. It doesn’t help that the puppies on Nintendogs are so dang cute. It doesn’t help that we still talk about our Marley dog almost daily. And it doesn’t help when I see photographs I have taken of other beloved dogs.
Here’s Lola, isn’t she just beautiful?

So as much as the children and I are ready to have a dog again, there is one other person we need to convince…
I wonder if having a dog would encourage this family to stop camping out on our doorstep?

I think we have some good arguments here. Wouldn’t you agree?
Until then I will just keep photographing the dogs of others…and dreaming.
