The View
August 10, 2009This is one of the views I remember from my childhood…recaptured tonight as I walked my parents’ dog. The sunsets always were incredible here.
We still have one more week of travel ahead of us. I think another trip to the beach is in order!

We are having A LOT of fun with these sessions! I have opened up one more appointment to squeeze in on Saturday afternoon, 11th April. Email me as soon as possible if you want to get in on these sessions.**
Periodically I get the chance to test out new cameras and lenses or other photography equipment. I have need of models for these test sessions and the next one is coming up in April. There will be 4 choices for location: Beach, Country, Home, or Urban (Sundays only.) Sessions will last from 30-60 minutes. All the details follow…
I expect these 8 spots to book up quickly so send me an email right away if you are interested. UPDATE: There are only 3 appointments left, email me ASAP to book yours. If you miss out on this round there may be another opportunity for 4 additional spots in May or June. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Two-lips and Candy Roses
February 11, 2009mmmmmmmmmmmm Valentine’s Day is so0000 close and my mind is hopelessly obsessed on the sweeties and chocolates and flowers.
Cue in FancyNancy !! I have been working with Juliet Sear, owner and creative baker-extraordinaire of Fancy Nancy Cakes. You might remember some of my previous blog posts of her here and here. I am always excited to support local businesses and to witness their growth and popularity. Fancy Nancy is about to move to a classy bigger studio and open a storefront and I can’t wait to watch the future of the business…and of course sample some new goodies along the way. I can only hope that a gym will open up across the street too. LOL. Exciting times ahead! Here are a few sample of what we photographed last week. Kiss cookies and the Pastel Rose Wedding cake. I do believe those lovely roses are handmade of white chocolate…yum.

February 7, 2009These are two lovely sisters that I adore working with. This shot was taken at the end of a commercial session as a gift for their mum and has become one of my recent favorites. Aren’t they just so dreamy?

Snow Day!!
February 2, 2009The kids were thrilled today to hear school was cancelled due to snow! I admit I had a bit of a laugh at school being cancelled on account of 2 inches, but whatever. Britons could never survive a Boston winter. Supposedly Bostonians could never survive a Canadian winter either, or so I was reminded often by Canadian friends in Boston. Either way, it is a hot cocoa with marshmallows kinda day, curled up under blankets watching movies munching on popcorn kind of day. We’ll take that once in awhile. Who really wants to go to school or work anyway??
Rebecca: Ooooh! I've been wondering how you've survived the snow. I've been hearing about it on the BBC World News all morning. Looks like you had fun! Enjoy the hot cocoa and marshmallows and give the kids a nice warm hug for me. xoxo

Lola
January 26, 2009The kids and I have been ‘dog dreaming’ for weeks. We are so ready to have a dog in our life again. Aidan and India are always sure to point out that Cameron is being ‘left out’ since he is not growing up with a dog and they did. They are also quick with the promises of walking, training, feeding, grooming and cleaning up. Of course I believe them. yeah right. In our heads we have picked out, studied and discussed several breeds, colors, temperaments, genders and names, yes, even names. Are we getting a dog? I doubt anytime soon. But we are still dreaming and wishing. It doesn’t help that the puppies on Nintendogs are so dang cute. It doesn’t help that we still talk about our Marley dog almost daily. And it doesn’t help when I see photographs I have taken of other beloved dogs.

So as much as the children and I are ready to have a dog again, there is one other person we need to convince…
I wonder if having a dog would encourage this family to stop camping out on our doorstep?
I think we have some good arguments here. Wouldn’t you agree?
Until then I will just keep photographing the dogs of others…and dreaming.
