Snow Day!!

February 2, 2009

The kids were thrilled today to hear school was cancelled due to snow!  I admit I had a bit of a laugh at school being cancelled on account of 2 inches, but whatever.  Britons could never survive a Boston winter.  Supposedly Bostonians could never survive a Canadian winter either, or so I was reminded often by Canadian friends in Boston.  Either way, it is a hot cocoa with marshmallows kinda day, curled up under blankets watching movies munching on popcorn kind of day.  We’ll take that once in awhile.  Who really wants to go to school or work anyway??

Rebecca: Ooooh! I've been wondering how you've survived the snow. I've been hearing about it on the BBC World News all morning. Looks like you had fun! Enjoy the hot cocoa and marshmallows and give the kids a nice warm hug for me. xoxo

sheila buhr: WOW these are stunning. As I sit here with minus thirty windchill. I think a pot of chili for supper sounds good!

Michelle Haley: I LOVE these...my gosh that pouty lip one is adorable!

lauri: I heard it's because they don't have snowplows in London. Plus the kids need the day off so you can create all these fun photos! Looks like they had a blast.

Anna-Karin: Looks like you had a great snowday. Love all these captures and the snowman is just icing on the cake!

Dawn Roberts: Ohhh I wish we had snow. These are great, love the snowflakes in the hair.

Michelle Miller: Looks like tons of fun! Thanks for sharing!

PamN: Awesome color! Such great memories for them, too!

Tara: What a great way to capture fun in the snow. That is the cutest snowman I've seen.

Jessica: Oh what a fun day! We are having one of those today, now I am inspired to go grab my camera when we go out:)

Patsy Dunn: I absolutely LOVE that close up of Cameron. Looks like lots of fun. I brought winter clothes to Utah and it is very warm here, so I am too warm.

kristina: LOVE these images! And I'm soooo jealous of all that beautiful snow!

Merryn Gomez: what cute expressions! Love it! I want to shoot snow! Its 45 degrees celsius in South Australia!!

Kelli: So, cute. Love them...they make me cold!

A Scary Thought

August 12, 2008

…this weekend is my 20th High School reunion.

I have no words.

Rebecca: Oh boy. No words either except thanks for the belly laugh this afternoon!

Patsy Dunn: There was a grouchy old lady who joined Curves because her daughter said she had to. Well we loved her until she is no longer grouchy. Her 60th class reunion was last night. We went to Target on-line and helped her pick out a new dress and ordered it for her. We helped her pick out shoes and she had her hair done, then we gave her make-up advice. She went to her reunion and one ol fella even put the make on her. One is never too old. Ya gotta love it!

Rebecca: Ah hem. It's been a few weeks ... :)

Gail: I bet you were missed.

Tanya: Yum! Looks like it's worth the wait.

Reb: Oooh, you are bad! Yes, this girl needs detox too. But only after my latest bar of Green and Blacks is safely in my tummy, lol. xoxo

Jessica: That is so funny. I can completely relate...many of my would be gifts find their final resting place in my tummy. Sad but true.

Patsy Dunn: I bought a bar of yummy chocolate and put it next to my computer.......the dog got it! Luckily he didn't figure out how to separate the chocolate from the paper. Otherwise, he might be really have got to know what "Death by chocolate" means.

Rebecca: Awwwww . . . love me a parcel too. Glad to know every bit of the package was appreciated - both presents & wrapping. xoxo

Patsy Dunn: I have a pretty cute, in a nerdy Robert Redford way, and funny UPS man too. We all love to see him at the club because he brings cool new clothing items. Jeannie and him have a running battle going and he kids about how lucky he is if Jeanie has already gone when he gets here. He gives us a UPS calendar every year, but he is never a poster boy, so I throw the calendar away. How about wrapping that cute little baby up and sending him my way? We could get him delivered in style with all of our parcel deliverer contacts. lol

New Year

Rebecca: What can I say except that this post made me *so* glad to be (once again) a few thousand miles closer . . . So happy the little "partridge" is feeling better. You must have fed him one of those yummy chocolate cookies. ;)

Patsy Dunn: Yea, I felt like our New Year got a rocky start also, with my mom's accident, sibling stuff, a broken heat pump that cost over $300 to fix and the phones were all messed up at the club. Maybe we are just getting the "bad" over with so we can enjoy all of the good things the rest of year. Where did you find the 5 pounds? I thought I had them, but I have no intention in keeping them. Well maybe I will have to wait until the Christmas fudge is gone.

PamN: just looking at those cookies makes me feel hopeful for the new year...!

Would you rather…

Rebecca: Okay, for what it's worth - I'd *so* much rather eat the slug a day for a year. I can NOT fathom eating only bananas for the rest of my life. Can you imagine how constipated you'd be? Bwahahaha!

dena robles: World, meet my friend, Rebecca Sick and Twisted. Rebecca S.T., meet the World.

Paul Dunn: By the time you cooked up the slug there wouldn'ty be much as it is 95% water. So, I would take the slug even tho I love bananas. I think you are right on about the sight vs sound. Happy Birthday -- Precious Princess form Prineville.... Love Dad

Rebecca: Okay, how about this one? Would you rather read this "Would you rather" post one more time OR stare endlessly at a newly posted picture of gorgeous, yummy, perfect Cameron (hint hint)?

dena robles: ha ha reb!! just saw your comment...your wish is my command.

Rebecca: Looks like a perfect day in the English country-side. How come you didn't invite me?

Patsy Dunn: Wow, Aidan and India you can jump higher than Eddie and I thought he was a really high jumper. How come we didn't have a beautiful day that when we were there?

Joshua: Thank you for the birthday pictures. Thanks for the painting Aidan. And India, that was a nice picture. We went to Chuck E. Cheese for my birthday. And tonight I'm opening presents that my brother and Mom gave me. And with my Dad I'm going to Toys R Us to get a new bike. I miss you. Love, Joshua

Rebecca: What a wonderful surprise for us today! Joshua was thrilled and the pictures and message warmed my heart. Thanks for being such wonderful friends! We miss you . . . hugs, R.
