Lola

January 26, 2009

The kids and I have been ‘dog dreaming’ for weeks.  We are so ready to have a dog in our life again.  Aidan and India are always sure to point out that Cameron is being ‘left out’ since he is not growing up with a dog  and they did.  They are also quick with the promises of walking, training, feeding, grooming and cleaning up.  Of course I believe them.  yeah right.  In our heads we have picked out, studied and discussed several breeds, colors, temperaments, genders and names, yes, even names.  Are we getting a dog?  I doubt anytime soon.  But we are still dreaming and wishing.  It doesn’t  help that the puppies on Nintendogs are so dang cute.  It doesn’t help that we still talk about our Marley dog almost daily.  And it doesn’t help when I see photographs I have taken of other beloved dogs.

Here’s Lola, isn’t she just beautiful?

So as much as the children and I are ready to have a dog again, there is one other person we need to convince…

I wonder if having a dog would encourage this family to stop camping out on our doorstep?

I think we have some good arguments here.  Wouldn’t  you agree?

Until then I will just keep photographing the dogs of others…and dreaming.

Rebecca: Lola is beautiful! I don't share your need for a dog (although Joshua would like six of them) but I'm diggin the photographs. Especially the one of the fox - he/she's gorgeous!

Patsy Dunn: Lola is beautiful, but you didn't get her to smile. lol

JVP and Tiff: Tiff and I love the pics of our girl! She's happy to be back in Cali and is smiling now. Dena, we would like to purchase a pic or two if that's ok? Let us know and talk to you soon, John and Tiff XX

jennifer: aww, too cute, love the curled up shots! Nice blog too!

Anna-Karin: Lola is a sweetie! I can not believe you have a fox coming that close to your house. Amazing capture!

Pammy: Sweet. I know what you mean about being ready to have a dog in your life....you should take the plunge

So, I didn’t get Daddy in front of my camera.  Dan, your time is coming…I am holding you to it.  Perhaps when he is 6 months old?  Run run run as fast as you can, but I’ll still catch you…

Enjoy your photographs and your lovely family!  Your slideshow is on the way.

Rebecca: You rock my world girl. Seriously! Thank you a million times over. I couldn't be more thrilled or grateful. xoxo

Christina Parkinson: Thanks for taking over when I left. It helped me to leave knowing you were going to take great care of them. The pictures are wonderful. I love the graceful look of Rebecca with Owen. The individual portraits of the boys with Owen are so fun because they capture much of their personalities. I am glad Owen has grown because he sure looks little in his portraits. The 4 boys picture is amazing. I love your use of textures. I hope going home and getting back into the routine was all right.

Jessica: Dena, wow! Just simply wow! Beautiful, gorgeous, soft, emotive and wonderful portraits.

Julie Mud: Great job! Reb always has such nice things to say about you. I guess I won't meet you until Michael and Indie marry, huh? I love Owen's wrinkly skin on the first one, and I love the second one how you can actually picture how he fit inside Reb's little belly. Wait, what am I saying, HE was really little. My kids are always double that size. And I love all the one's with each bro individually.

Cher: Dena, I've heard so much about you through Rebecca! Your pictures are lovely and I didn't want them to end!

Anna Jones: Dena, these are sooo beautiful! What a wonderful friend you are! I can't think of a better gift - they'll treasure these forever!

janine: I've been on your site a few times without commenting but when I saw the images of Rebecca and Owen I had to come and look at more! They are absolutely inspirational. I am just about to go to a newborn shoot for my good friend and am nearly beside myself after looking at these - thank you so much for sharing them :)

dena: Oh thank you for all the kind words!

julie Miller: I too have heard so much about you through Reb. The pictures are great. I especially like the fifth one down and the one of little Owen in the basket. So precious. That is a wonderful gift you gave Rebecca- in addition to your friendship! Lucky girl.

Michelle Miller: Dena, these are lovely! So Beautiful! My favs are the ones with Mom :)

sheila: I love each and everyone of these. Beautiful!

Chelsey: Dena, these are beautiful. So much love... in front of (& behind) the camera... incredible to see that. Inspirational!

ally breazeale: just perfection. so taken with the brotherhood images, especially. hte last one couldn't be sweeter.

TaraMc: So beautiful! That sibling shot is certainly one to treasure, excellent job.

Tara: I love all of these. They are absolutely stunning.

Cari Long: These are all so beautiful. What a sweet little guy. I, too, love his wrinkley skin. You show such connection in all the images.

Brenda: Dena...these are beyond gorgeous!! Goodness...they are sooo crisp and just WOW! So...maybe you 2 can swing on down to Texas next time....Hee-Hee!!

Clean Fresh Start

January 13, 2009

Happy New Year!  So you have found me on my fresh new blog.  I am still testing out a few little quiggles here and there, bear with me.  I hope to soon have everything in perfect working order and then I can concentrate on keeping the posts rolling.  Also new this year is my shiny updated website.   Please note that the name has changed!  StudioSol Photography. com has evolved into Dena Robles | Photographer as I aim to start bringing more of my personal vision into my work.  I am quite excited about all the changes here and those still forthcoming…

Speaking of fresh new beginnings (and my excitement) I must share with you my lovely friend Rebecca with her fresh new itty bitty baby Owen and wonderful big brother Noah.  We spent Christmas together this year and here is a little sneak peek from my camera.

Many more photographs to come very soon.  Miss you guys!

Rebecca: Oooh, love at the three of us! Thanks for braving the bathtub shots with me ... I can't wait to see the rest of what you shot. Big hugs and congrats on the new blog! Reb

Rebecca: Ooops, meant to say LOOK at the three of us. Guess that's what happens when you get about 3 hours of sleep a night. ;)

Patsy Dunn: I found you. Looks great! We just spent 3 days with your little front page girl. What a fun time we had. She is such a little mother and still somewhat labor intensive and such a joy. I had to go to a meeting for an hour so I told her to take care of grandpa. She took this job very seriously and even put him asleep while watching Scooby Doo lol

Nina Pomeroy: I love that shot! What a beautiful expression on big brother.
