Let it BE

All the primping, pruning, feeding, watering, misting, clipping and tying in the world did not make my orchid bloom this year, or last, or the year before.  However, on an ingnored corner shelf just out of arm’s reach I was surprised by  beautiful blossoms on my ‘other’ orchid…the one I let alone.  Go figure.

I brought it down to bask in the light on my table…but I don’t dare touch it or pay it any attention…just let it BE.

Wowzers that orchid is gorgeous. An unexpected bit of Spring for you … what a wonderful surprise!

My Christmas cactus actually did the same thing, but I didn’t take any gorgeous pictures like you did. After it bloomed big pink blossoms I paid more attention to it and now it looks like it is dying. You have the right idea, to let it be. I guess the poor plant was just giving me one last hurrah (probably embellished by a few audible “raspberries”) before it gave up the ghost.
Love your photos.
