Empty Nest

Posting this is an admission of the truth.  My baby is running with the big dogs now.  Fulltime at the BIG school she is.  Growing up.  I’m not sure who had the most painful time with the first day of school.  See here as the true personalities and attitudes come forward.

"Do you HAVE to take my picture every year??"

"Is this cute enough?  Or should I turn the other way mom?"

School1

sigh.  Have you EVER seen a cuter kindergartner?  (All parents of kindergarten girls need not reply…ha!)

Day One was all about the uniform.

School2

And then the race to see who could get there first.

School3

Day two deserves as much attention as day one -IMO.  Still going strong on the enthusiasm.

School4

Until it is actually TIME TO GO.

School5

Thank goodness for Best Friends!

School6

Good luck India!  Now if only *I* could get through this as easily as she is.

Hey,
Enjoy the “ME” time. You earned it.
Is it time for another baby?
I remember my poignant empty nest moment when my baby threw his mattress over his shoulder and threw it into his pick-up truck and moved in with a friend. It was so sad. Then two weeks later he was back sitting on a pile of dirty laundry and no place to live. That was sadder.

Awwwwe, she looks so sweet in her uniform (love the pic with the sweater) and so grown up. Makes me want to bottle her up or give her some sort of potion to make her stop growing. And how could she start kindergarten without Michael!?! Now I’m sad too . . .
